TWO DSR2000 DISPENSERS TO FEED CALVES Ferme Boblé Inc. Increases Workplace Flexibility

Co-owned by three brothers and one sister, Ferme Boblé Inc. is a business that may ring a bell for you. Do you know Louis-Joseph Beaudoin? He is chairman of the grain-fed calf marketing committee for the Quebec beef producers’ federation and president of Ferme Boblé, which he co-owns with his siblings Anne-Charlie, Thomas-Alexandre and Félix-Antoine.
Daniel Martel, founder of Martel Équipements agricoles, stands with Ferme Boblé Inc.’s co-owners Anne-Charlie, Thomas-Alexandre et Félix-Antoine Beaudoin (the fourth owner, Louis-Joseph, is absent).

Louis-Joseph’s parents had a dairy farm since 1980, where his mother started to raise a small herd of calves. Little did she know that her project would one day become the farm’s main operation! Today, Ferme Boblé finishes 8,000 calves per year. The farm receives 75-day-old calves monthly and releases them every week after 140 to 145 days, or once they reach an approximate weight of 690 pounds.

Feeding the calves used to gobble up 8 hours of work each day. That was until the Beaudoin family stepped up their game with two Agro Contact DSR2000 robotic feeding systems, two Jaylor 5100 mini mixers and Ramec feeding conveyors—one kitchen per building. All this equipment, sourced from Martel Équipements agricoles, allowed the Beaudoin family to gain flexibility and increase their yields. Now that they can spend more time caring for the calves and monitoring their health, the siblings no longer waste money or precious hours to keep calves above the required weight.

Martel Équipements agricoles has been in business for 21 years and is 7 employees strong. Always eager to innovate and pursue its growth, owner Daniel Martel made his company the gold standard in terms of feeding equipment for calves, cows, bulls, poultry, goats and more.

Farmers looking for brand-new equipment will be delighted by his selection of tools from brands such as Jaylor, Agro Contact, Trioliet, Ramec, WIC and ControleTech.

And if you have a defective mixer, drainage tube layer, roller, drain hose reel, silo unloader, straw cutter, farm cart, shredder or spreader, Martel Équipements agricoles sells replacement parts for DIY repairs. Don’t want to fix it yourself? The company also provides outstanding refurbishment services, and Daniel Martel himself proudly puts his seal of approval on reworked equipment.

Strategically located in Saint-Christophe-d’Arthabaska in the Centre-du-Québec region, Martel Équipements agricoles caters to farms across the province, no matter how remote. What’s more, the company reached an agreement with Simon-Pierre Ayotte from DICA to serve farms in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region.
